This Tuesday, February 18th starting at 8:30pm eastern FRC Deep Dive is back with an unprecedented inside look and AMA of FRC 118 Robonauts. You’ll get over an hour to find out what it takes to perform at the highest level of FIRST and also to ask questions and perhaps some info on what they have been working on in 2020.
You can submit questions ahead of time here on Chief Delphi or at our Discord in #frc-preshow-qa . We will get to as many questions as we can and typically those submitted ahead of time have a better chance of being asked as we have some time to organize these.
Oh and there will be 118 giveaways for those who watch live!
Also don’t forget: Submissions for Premiere Night are due on Friday at 10pm eastern. You can show off your robot progress no matter how far along you are to the FRC community by submitting at https://forms.gle/nnrf4gsFLVRNTQBM6
What’s your method for training new drivers to get ready for competition beyond just repetitive practice? Are there particular drills you run to get drivers used to the control scheme?
One I would like to say thank you to 118 for helping us with our camera at Worlds last year and it was really cool to have a match with you guys. My question for Robonauts is “how do you guys make pick-list for competitions and what will you be looking for in alliance partners this season?”
Has No Bag significantly impacted the way you go about designing and building robots? Do you feel that later in the season you’ll spend the extra build time exploring new design options or refining the ones you’ve already invested time and resources in?
2018 Illusion-
I noticed that in 2018, you had to grab the cube in a certain way to pass it to the arm. When the cubes didnt want to cooperate, did you ever wish it was a type of grabber that could grab the cubes in any way and score?
What powered the arm?
