Really nice implementation of the everybot! I really love the way you did your climber hook, very unique!
Thanks! But actually this robot is not inspired by the everybot by any means. In fact our prototype bot CAD was done before the Everybot was even released.
Thanks for sharing Icarus with us. Can you share more information about the 4 telescoping bars that raise your climber hook? What actually raises it? I think I see a rope on it, but its fast and hard to tell.
We have a short robot as well, and used PVC pipe to make a cascading lift, but its not working well as it flexes and spins once raised. Yours looks much better.
Hi, here’s some information about our climbing mechanism:
So basically it consists of 3 aluminium profiles in 3 different sizes connected by 2 3d printed rollers that hold a frictionless piece of metal. Around the piece of metal is a thin rope that pulls up the telescope.
If you want I can upload the CAD and send it here.
We have a similar intake but ours is all vertical right now. We’ve been having issues with the Power Cells jamming though. I’d love to take a look at the CAD for the wheel spacing measurements.
