It is that time of year again! FRC Designs is gearing up for a great 2014 build season! FRC Designs is a database for FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) robot design ideas and solutions. This database consists of previous and current robot designs including images, videos, and CAD of robot designs that are submitted by FRC teams.

As the season approaches, would your team commit to sharing your resources with the FIRST community during the 2014 season? These resources could include:

  • CAD files of your 2014 robot and/or subsystem(s)
  • CAD files of a previous year robot and/or subsystem(s)
  • “Behind the Design” type article that describes a particular robot and/or subsystem
  • Build Season Journal or log of progress
  • Sharing Your Build Season Tips

Go to our website (Link Above) to view many resources that have been submitted by teams in the past. Use the website to your advantage during the build season to help your progress.

Submitting CAD Files

WeTransfer (https://www.wetransfer.com/) works the best for sending large compressed zip files. It is easy to use and simply needs an email address to send the files to. Send these files to [email protected].

256 will be uploading our CAD files during the 2014 season.

3467 will hopefully be able to upload our 2014 work as our CAD group has expanded.

I’ll look into our 2013 robot files. It might need some cleanup after the redesigns through the season but I know we have it.

Team 846 will be providing the CAD files of our 2014 robot, as we have for 2013, 2012, and 2011. We will also supply a “Behind the Design” document for that robot consisting of the technical documentation our subsystem leaders write up at the conclusion of each build season, and will look into getting the 2012 and 2013 versions of that document also uploaded to frcdesigns.com. We’re happy to support you guys, as always!

Are you interested in any FTC designs?
We have four teams, all of which do some CAD work on their designs.
