FRC Driver Station only showing one window

Hey everybody,

I’m new to FIRST, so this may be a common problem, but neither my team nor Google has been able to help me with this.

When running the FRC Driver Station app on my Windows 7 laptop, I can only see the thin (typically bottom) window of the control panel. After some setup, I can get stop button, communications, and robot code buttons to light up green, and even get the robot to run (indicating that there’s no communications error or anything of that sort), but I cannot find a way to get the other window up. The window that I do see starts halfway off my screen, but Alt-Tab doesn’t show the other window to be anywhere.

Has anybody experienced this before? If you’re an admin and this question is redundant, could you at least send me a PM with a link to a solution before deleting this thread?

Thanks!

Is the external dashboard button selected on the setup screen?

Do you mean the Remote Dashboard button?

If so, then no, it’s set on Local Dashboard.

I assume you aren’t getting an error about not finding some DLL when loading the Driver Station.

Did you install the FRC Tools from the NI DVD in the kit? That must be installed on any machine you want to run the default Dashboard on.

Yeah I’m pretty sure that installed with LabView. Today I was actually trying to work with some vision tracking code, so I just had a displayed wired into my front panel on LabView, and was working through that. So the camera and robot communication and everything is definitely working, just not the driver station top window…

Yes, I believe so. It installs with LabView by default, correct?
