FRC Locks is missing rookie all star automatic qualifications for NE DCMP. Is this normal?
I haven’t checked other districts yet, but this seems like a huge gap in the math to me, as NE has several low-district-point rookies that won RAS and will take up a slot at DCMP
Does RAS automatically qualify the robot in NE? I know in FiM (at least a few years ago) RAS only qualified the team to present for it, not the robot as well. Robot had to qualify on its own, and therefore wouldn’t take a slot.
I was also very much under the impression that you still had to qualify on points to compete at DCMP with RAS. I spent the last 5 minutes looking at the awards page and could not find a thing about advancement for either EI (which i know doesnt) or RAS.
Pnw DCMP also doesn’t have any rookies listed, but has the chairman’s teams listed.
Chairman’s is the only award that qualifies you to DCMP with your robot.
The relevant section is 11.8.2 in the manual.
11.8.2 District Championship Eligibility
A team competing in a District qualifies for their District Championship by meeting 1 of the following
criteria:
A. District Chairman’s Award Winner,
B. District Ranking (based on total points earned at their first 2 home District events as
detailed in District Events),Teams do not earn points at third or subsequent District events, nor at any interdistrict or Regional events at which they compete during the season.
If a team declines an invitation to the District Championship, the next highest
uninvited team on the list is invited, and so on, until the event capacity is filled.C. District Engineering Inspiration winner (qualifies to compete for the award only), and
D. District Rookie All Star winner (qualifies to compete for the award only).
RAS makes you eligible for RAS at DCMP, but you don’t compete with your robot and it doesn’t take a slot from another team.
