FRC M10 Game Thread

Welcome to FRC M10.

Your hosts are @gellnick and @TheFlash.
This game will be run in a multiball, or 3-faction, setup. This is entirely new to us, so if we make any mistakes, please let us know ASAP through your role PM.

Rules

1. Follow the Chief Delphi forum rules.
2. Be respectful to the hosts and your fellow players.

3. NEW. There is now a minimum post requirement to stay in the game. The current minimum post requirement is 5 per day. Failure to meet this requirement will result in being replaced and possibly being placed on a blacklist.

4. Do not quote/screenshot private host messages. They’re private for a reason.
5. Don’t throw the game. Always play with the intent of helping your faction win.
6. No editing or deleting posts for any reason without express moderator/host permission.
7. No posting after majority is reached or at night. We can’t lock the thread, so we’re relying on you all to just follow this rule and not post. Repeated or egregious failure to comply will result in your removal from the game.
8. Do not discuss the game outside of the game. Anywhere. It’s not worth it.
9. It’s a game - have fun!

Gameplay

• Days will last up to 36 hours.
• Nights will last roughly 12 hours.
• The Mafia have a factional night-kill. Any living member may carry out the kill on any given night. The Illuminati DO NOT have a factional night-kill.
• Night actions are performed by sending a message on the PM one of the hosts will send you with your role card, or in the Mafia/Illuminati chat if you are a member of the Mafia/Illuminati.
• The Mafia/Illuminati may submit their actions for any night at any time, but must make sure to inform the host.
• The Mafia/Illuminati may submit the action of any Mafia/Illuminati player, but must have that player’s agreement.

Eliminations

• To accuse someone, say “ # /vote [player]** ”.
• To rescind your vote, say “ # /unvote** ”.
• To ensure your vote is counted, please make your vote big. See the FAQ for how to do that.
• Vote counts will be given whenever a host is available to do so. You may request one by pinging any of us.
• The first three days will have a deadline elimination - whoever has the most votes when the 36 hour timer expires will be eliminated.
• After Day 3, any player who has the most votes will be killed, and night will start.
• If a person is killed, their role and alignment will be revealed.
• If the end of day has been reached, stop posting immediately. Repeated or egregious failure to comply may result in a modkill. Please do not spam any mod with pings, we may not be available to end the day at that moment. We will end the day when we can.

After The Night

• You will receive the results of any investigative night actions taken, as well as the success of certain other night actions you take.
• You will be told what happened to you in your PM.
• Day will begin. If a person is killed, their role will be revealed.
• If you are dead, do not post. We will try to start a PM chain for dead players to discuss the game. If you are not added to the PM chain, message the mods in your PM.

Roles:

There are 8 Town roles, 3 Illuminati roles, and 3 Mafia roles.
There are 12 Town players, 3 Illuminati players, and 3 Mafia players.
Except for Alert Townie and Vanilla Townie, there is only one of each role.
There are 2 Alert Townies and 3 Vanilla Townies.

Role Cards

Town Messenger

Each night may send a message/item to any player.

You win if Illuminati and Mafia are eliminated.

Town Doctor

Each night may keep one player from being killed.

You win if Illuminati and Mafia are eliminated.

Town Inventor

Each night may either invent or give an invention to target player. Cannot self-target.

You win if Illuminati and Mafia are eliminated.

Alert Townie

Will be told the names of any players who visited them.

You win if Illuminati and Mafia are eliminated.

Town Leek

Once per night may order 500 leeks on any player. If the player accepts, the Town Leek is given a leek.

You win if you leek a Mafia/Illuminati

Town JOAT

Each night may use one of the following actions: Track, Message, Investigate, or Save. Only one action may be used each night, and each action must be used before an action can be used for a second time.

You win if Illuminati and Mafia are eliminated.

Town Tracker

Each night may track a target, and will learn who they visited.

You win if Illuminati and Mafia are eliminated.

Town Cop

Each night may investigate a target and discover their role and alignment.

You win if Illuminati and Mafia are eliminated.

Vanilla Townie

No special abilities.

You win if Illuminati and Mafia are eliminated.

Illuminati Switcher

Each night may swap two players. One player will receive any action targeted at the other, and vice versa.

You win if the number of living Illuminati players is more than or equal to the number of all other living players.

Illuminati Fake Inventor

Each night may give target player a random item. The item will be randomly chosen from all items, including fake ones.

You win if the number of living Illuminati players is more than or equal to the number of all other living players.

Illuminati Illusioner

Has a gun. May at any time choose a player to kill and a player to be seen as. The player that the Illusioner chooses to be seen as will be shown to kill the player the Illusioner chooses to kill. This is a one shot ability, but if the Illusioner gets an item from the Inventor or Fake Inventor, that item may be used instead. Items given by the Dealmaker may not be used in this fashion.

You win if the number of living Illuminati players is more than or equal to the number of all other living players.

Mafia Ninja

All night actions you take will be undetectable.

You win if the number of living Mafia players is more than or equal to the number of all other living players.

Mafia Dealmaker

Each night may target any non-Mafia aligned player and offer an item as a deal. The targeted player has until the end of the next day to accept or deny, and will not be informed what player is offering the deal. If the targeted player accepts, they gain the item. Their role and alignment will be revealed if they use the item. If they refuse, nothing happens.

You win if the number of living Mafia players is more than or equal to the number of all other living players.

Town Traitor

When the Town Traitor is targeted by the Town Cop, the Mafia Dealmaker, or the Town JOAT Investigate action, the Town Traitor will join the Mafia. If the Mafia target the Traitor for a nightkill, the Traitor is nightkilled. If all Mafia are killed before the Traitor is found, the Traitor will join the Mafia faction.

You win if the number of living Mafia players is more than or equal to the number of all other living players.

Gun:

Kills targeted player.

Bulletproof Vest:

Makes player immune to nightkills for one night.

Result message(s):

• You used your Bulletproof Vest.

Smoke Bomb:

Reveals player’s alignment and role as well as providing immunity against a lynch.

Result message(s):

• You used your Smoke Bomb.

Pouch of Gold:

Allows targeted player to have a vote counted as double.

Result message(s):

• Your vote has been counted as double.

Message:

User may send a message to targeted player.

Result message(s):

• You successfully gave (player) your message.
• You were unable to give (player) your message.

Target message(s):

• You received a message saying (message).

Tripwire:

Detects and blocks any attempts to use an action on targeted player for a night. Targeted player will learn who attempted to visit them.

Result message(s):

• You saw (player) trip your tripwire.

Target message(s):

• “You were unable” message

Bait:

If used, that night Mafia must kill user, and user will learn who kills them. Anti-nightkill items or actions will block the nightkill.

Result message(s):

• (Player) killed you.
• (Player) tried to kill you.

Totem of Undying:

If player has this, the player cannot be killed. If a kill or vote out is attempted on the player, it will fail, but remove the item.

Result message(s):

• You have used your Totem of Undying.

Fake Gun:

Gun, when used, will always kill the user.

Result message(s):

• You successfully killed yourself.
• You were unable to kill yourself.

Fake Bulletproof Vest:

Does not protect against anything.

Result message same as Bulletproof vest.

Fake Smoke Bomb:

Reveals player’s role and alignment, but does not provide any immunity.

Result message same as Smoke Bomb.

Fake Pouch of Gold:

Will cause the player’s vote to not be counted.

Result message same as Pouch of Gold.

Fake Bait:

When used, Mafia will kill the user. Anti-nightkill actions and items will still block it.

• What is Forum Mafia?

• Are game days real days?
  No. In-game days are entirely separate from real-world days.
• I’m still confused.
  Feel free to ask any host any and all questions you may have!

  Type “/vote @TheFlash, and ping a host! We all want the Mafia outta here!
• I see the game is full - can I still play somehow?
  Once the playerlist is full, we’d love to have some backups in case anybody drops out or is inactive. Backup players might be called upon at any time to fill the shoes of a player that needs to be replaced.
• I’d like to see another role - How do I suggest it?
  It may not be possible to add it this game, but make sure to tell one of the hosts by @'ing them and we will try to add it.
• I don’t know how to make my vote big!
  All you need to do is create a new line by hitting the “enter” key and then writing “# /vote @TheFlash”

Uh… Yeah, but that doesn’t apply to mods.
Dead players can however like any mod posts and any posts a different dead player has liked.
Dead players can like any post as long as a mod gives permission (dead players have to ask)
