FRC Forum Mafia Game 13
is now underway!
Your mod for FM 13 will be @EricKline and our congressional oversight mod being the all mighty @ash4fun . He has the right to appoint new mods, or end of the game, should I become incapable. He also ensures all rules are being followed.
For this game we will be running a custom game mode I’ve made up just for this game, welcome to the "Battle Ground Brawl."
Rules
- Follow the Chief Delphi forum rules.
- Be respectful to the hosts and your fellow players. No comments on any other players personal character shall be tolerated.
- Don’t be inactive. If you do not post meaningfully in any given phase, you will be prodded. Receiving two prods or failing to respond to a prod within 12 hours will result in your removal from the game. This will be a special point of emphasis this game.
- Dead will not be added to scum chat. Dead will not talk in game for any reason, or face a mod kill. Role lists will be distributed through PM only
- Dead will not interact with any in game polls, nor will they like posts!
- Do not quote/screenshot private host messages. They’re private for a reason.
- Don’t throw the game. Always play with the intent of helping your faction win.
- No editing or deleting posts for any reason without express moderator permission.
- No posting after majority is reached or at night. I can’t lock the thread, so I’m relying on you all to just follow this rule and not post. Repeated or egregious failure to comply will result in your removal from the game.
- Do not discuss the game outside of the game. Anywhere. It’s not worth it.
- Do not edit the OP for any reason, PM the Mod.
- Using meta methods such as looking at “last time actives” or “last post times” is not allowed. Any evidence found outside the game thread should not be used or looked for. If it is accidentally ran into, PM your mod.
- It’s a game - have fun!

• All night actions must be set in 1 hour prior to SOD.
• All classes must be chosen before SOD in PM, or will be randomly assigned.
Eliminations
• To accuse someone, say “ ## /vote [player] ”.
• To rescind your vote, say “ ## /unvote ”.
• Vote counts will be given whenever a host is available to do so. You may request one by pinging me. No vote counts will be given by the dead!
• Days 1-2 will have a deadline elimination - whoever has the most votes when the 72 hour timer expires will be eliminated.
• Days 3 and on will have a plurality elimination - if majority is reached on a player, the day will end immediately with their elimination, but if majority isn’t reached whoever has the most votes when the timer expires will be eliminated.
If majority has been reached, stop posting immediately. Repeated or egregious failure to comply will result in a modkill.
Rolelist
Vanilla Town x12
Vanilla Town:
You don’t have any special ability.
You win if all Mafia players are eliminated.
Town General x1
Town General:
Every night you can order the ITA of one member of town, upon any other player. The ITA will be executed between 12:00-1:00 MST on the second real life day ( between 24-25 hours after SOD). If your target has already used their ITA, then your power will have no effect. If you target a member of mafia, they will not be effected. If your target has been blocked, it will have no effect. You will not be told if you have successfully targeted a town, and they will not be notified. The game thread will not notified who the shot originated from. All class attributes still apply to both parties. To order, write the following in your PM chat:
/Order @player
/Shoot @player
Town Medic x1
Town Medic:
Every night you can select one player to protect for the entirety of the night, and the following day. You cannot select the same player twice in a row, and you cannot protect yourself. They will not be notified if protected. To protect, write the following in your PM chat:
/Protect @player
You win if all Mafia players are eliminated.
Town MP x1
Town MP:
Every night you can select one person to investigate as the military police. You can chose to either know their class, or their alignment. You can chose the same player twice in a row. They will not be notified if investigated. To investigate, write the following in your PM chat:
/InvestigateClass @player
Or
/InvestigateAlignment @player
You win if all Mafia players are eliminated.
Mafia Goon x2
Mafia Goon
You don’t have any special ability, but may carry out the Mafia’s factional night-kill. To execute the night kill, type the following in mafia PM:
/kill @player
You win if the number of living Mafia players is equal to or greater than the number of living Town players at any point.
Mafia Shield x1
Mafia Shield:
Every night you can select one player to block. This will do two things. It will block their night action, should they have one, and it will make any shot made by the player have a 100% rate of failure. The number of uses you get of this power is corresponding to the number of people who have chosen the most popular class. For every two people who have chosen the most common class, you get one additional shield, with a base of 0. The number of uses you get will round down to the nearest use. You will be notified of how many shield uses you have 1 hour before SOG, but after you and the rest of the mafia have chosen their class. You can only target each player once, but you can use as many shields as you want per night. They will not be notified. You can also carry out the Mafia’s factional night-kill. You can do both in the same night. To use Shield, type the following in PM:
/Block @player
You win if the number of living Mafia players is equal to or greater than the number of living Town players at any point.
Mafia Spy x1
Mafia Spy:
Every night you can select one player to investigate. You can chose to either learn their role, or their class. You can select the same player twice in a row. You can also carry out the Mafia’s factional night-kill. You can do both in the same night. To investigate, type the following in mafia PM chat:
/InvestigateClass @player
Or
/InvestigateRole @player
You win if the number of living Mafia players is equal to or greater than the number of living Town players at any point.
Mafia Smoker x1
Mafia Smoker:
Every night you can select one player to deploy a smoke screen against. This will inhibit their ability to use their night action. This will also decrease their ITA accuracy by 20% for the following day. They will be notified if smoke screened. You cannot target the same player more than once. You can also carry out the Mafia’s factional night-kill. You can do both in the same night. To smokescreen another player, type the following in mafia PM chat:
/Smoke @player
You win if the number of living Mafia players is equal to or greater than the number of living Town players at any point.
ITA’s and Class Options
Accuracy | Defense | Range | |
---|---|---|---|
Sniper | 70% | 30% | 90% |
Marine | 50% | 50% | 70% |
Tank | 30% | 70% | 50% |
How ITA's work
This game will be running ITA’s. ITA’s, standing for “In Thread Attack,” is a mode of attack that every player will have the opportunity to shoot at another player at any point in the day. While it’s not required that you use your ITA every day, it’s common practice to use your ITA every day. ITA’s can be used once per day. To use your ITA, you must type the following in the game thread:
/Shoot @player
Failure to follow the format may result in a failed shot.
During N0, you may choose your ITA class. The class you chose will determine 3 things for the remainder of your play.
Accuracy: The odds of which your shot will successfully hit the player under attack.
Defense: The odds of which a shot that successfully hit you will get blocked.
Range: The odds of which a blocked shot will successfully return and kill the origin shooter.
So for example: A Sniper shoots a shot at a Tank player. This shot will have 70% chance of hitting the Tank. Then Tank will then have a 70% chance of blocking the shot. This gives the sniper a 21% chance of killing the tank (.7*.3=.21), and consequently gives the tank a 49% chance of successfully blocking the shot (.7*.7=.49). The final step is to bring into account the range attribute. After taking into account whether or not the shot is successful in hitting, and then weighing whether or not the shot is defended, we weigh whether or not the Tank can successfully return the shot, given he has already blocked it. So, the Tank has a 49% of blocking a shot from a sniper. He then has a 50% chance of successfully returning the shot. All combined, that gives the Sniper a 24.5% of dyeing from a shot made on a Tank player (.7*.7*.5=.245). The return shot does not take into account the defense attribute of the originating player.
For a shot to be returned, it must first be blocked…dead people can’t shoot back. Retuned shots will not have an effect on your ability to shoot your own ITA during the same day. All ITA’s will be calculated by the mod out of game chat, to keep the class of the players a secret.

What is Forum Mafia?
In case you missed the link at the top, here is a short guide from Mafia Universe describing the basics of Forum Mafia. In short, it is a variation of the party game Mafia (also known as Werewolf) that has been adapted to be played on forums. -
What does _______ mean?
There is a great glossary of various Mafia terms that may be used on the Mafia Universe Wiki 2 . -
I’m still confused.
Feel free to ask me any and all questions you may have!
Final notes:
The game will start promptly at 2019-10-30T18:00:00Z . Role cards will be sent out in the 48 hours prior. You must role confirm 24 hours prior to SOG in game chat. Flavor will be added at start of game, and at the beginning and end of each day.
Finally, because our rankings team is taking a break, we will be skipping any complex rankings for this game, and will just have a MVP vote at the end of the game for scum team and town team.
Confirm Role and ITA Class with ## /Confirm
Once confirmed, you cannot change class
The theme will be a WW1 trenches war zone.
