so as I said in the signup thread, my numbers were 8 and 4. I thought most people would go for odd numbers, since they seem more “random”, and therefore I picked even ones. I thought 8 was far back enough to be unambitious.
Obviously, this reasoning was apparently too common to be effective. I ended up with Vanilla Town, which I suppose I should have expected.
the most frustrating thing about being vanilla town is having no information except that which you can infer, and being ungifted at accurate inference, I don’t have much to go on. My reasons for voting Eric are unchanged:
- He was vehemently against GoalKeeperBoss’s strategy of draft number reveal, but then shortly afterwards defended him, saying “Mafia would NEVER be this dumb” - a WIFOM strategy I’ve seen him use to cover mafia’s tracks in games where he was mafia.
Also, his pushback felt like he was simply doing it to be able to point at later, which he did:
And he went on to further defend him when he was at risk of being voted out:
So his behavior around our only confirmed scum, GoalKeeperBoss, felt all wrong to me.
Plus, he would switch votes with little to no reasoning other than “self preservation”, even if such a move wasn’t required.
His crazy theory about mafia killing each other to lock in James (claimed vigilante) as town felt like a desperate attempt to get town to vote out their own PR (especially since with his shot spent, the mafia probably had better targets to spend their nightkill on, and if james had sniffed out a mafia on d1 (assuming he is telling the truth about being vigilante), getting him voted out would be great for mafia).
His vote for spork and the way he spun it set off a host of red flags for me, as I explained:
and became even more suspicious after spork flipped Town.
Nothing I saw after that did anything to shake my suspicion that kaylee and eric might be scum buddies, and I was frustrated that we didn’t get a lynch on either, although, in hindsight, it wouldn’t have been any better if we had. At least this way we know Mafia wanted Eric dead.
I’m surprised, but perhaps we can sniff out a scum that way. although the wifom of (they might either want to silence eric because he was onto something / want to frame whoever he was sus of) will complicate matters.

I’m actually very surprised that EricKline was nightkilled. I would have thought that mafia would have left him to cause discourse among us. I think the only reason they would have killed him is if he was getting close to finding out a mafia, or he was accusing one of them. I think we need to look closer at Kline’s votes.

Ok then. That helps us. 
the problem with that is that it’s such a natural place to look that only certain kinds of scum teams kill off their accusers directly: inexperienced and desperate Mafia, or mafia experienced enough to know town will make the exact argument I’ve just made, and WIFOM their way back into doing it.
That said, we can also look at his intermediate votes and see who he WANTED to take out before he went self-preservation. That’ll be harder and longer.

True, but right now it would seem that not killing him would be beneficial to mafia since he already had suspicion on him. It’s weird that they killed him now.

Even though I thought he was town, no one else seemed too. It seemed just a matter of time til he would be lynched. I don’t understand it personally, but I’m sure other people do.
Idk why, but this comes off like mafia pretending like they don’t know anything.
