I’ve been trying to use the FRC-Characterization Suite with the new Falcon 500 motors with Spark MAX motor controllers. The issue is, when I try to run the forwards test, the robot accelerates forward but never actually stops. I tried it in a large gym (75-100 feet), and the robot went from one end all the way to the other. When I tried disabling the robot when it got to the end, it said that 0.00 encoder counts were recorded, which doesn’t seem right. Is anyone else getting this issue, and how did you solve it?
Per the instructions in the tool, you should disable the robot to stop it.
If it reports that no distance was traveled, then you have probably configured your encoders wrong.
I’m sorry, what? The falcons have the Talon FX controllers built in. I’m amazed you haven’t permanently damaged something with that setup.

Oh, I totally missed this. Yes, this is Not a Thing, and if it is an accurate description of your setup you should stop immediately.
