FRC Scouting app system 2016-2017: Scouting Radar by Storm Robotics

Hello everyone! You guys may remember our system from last year: https://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142649

This year, we’ve released our application again and it is better than ever!

Our system still uses two apps, a user and master app. Twice the apps means twice the fun, am I right?

For the user and master app, it’s the same concept as last year, but with improvements:

-No scrolling, allowing for a better user experience
-More user friendly interfaces, accomplished by wireframing
-Much faster than last year
-Still got the QR codes
-Follows Google Material Design Standards

Here are the links to the applications. Please post issues, bugs and suggestions to this thread as they become relevant!

User: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.lrhsd.storm.user17
Master: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.storm.lrhsd.stormscoutingradar2017master

We just tried out the app (just entering random data) and found a few bugs:

  • After scanning QR code, we can’t seem to find any team data in the Analysis Pages
  • App crashes when trying to search for match number (Analysis-Match Number page)

Other than those bugs, it looks like a great scouting app!

Thanks!

Hi Joe, those are issues we were aware of when we pushed to the store, but we’ve already fixed those on our side. The updated version should be live on the play store in the near future!

Hi Joe, I just updated the application with fixes for these issues. Thank you for letting us know about them, and hope you enjoy using our apps!

Awesome! We’ll be waiting for the update then!

We just thought of something. Is there all way to export this to a CSV file to the device (master app)?

I’m not entirely sure what you mean. Do you mean exporting the CSV to a computer from the tablet?

A CSV file should automatically be generated by the master app after the first scan

Oh really? Which directory is it stored?

So just as an FYI limiting the fuel in auto to 10 while correct for starting, will not be accurate, as getting fuel from a hopper will be more common than you think.

After doing a review of the rules, that is a very good point and we will fix this. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!

I want to say it should be in the root directory of the default file explorer. We probably should of specified this, sorry!

Just confirmed. It is in the root directory ("Internal Storage "). Thanks

Hey guys! Just a couple updates on the apps

User:
-Removed the 10 ball limit
-Added deletion method

Master:
-Added scrolling for better use

Is there all way to export this to a CSV file from each match by each scouting member (User app)?

Thanks.

Is there all way to export this to a CSV file from each match by each scouting member (User app)?

Thanks.

Where doe the CSV file installed on PC or MAC if I install the Master on PC or MAC? Thanks

As of right now, there is not. But we can add the feature to the app as that is not a bad idea

I’m not sure as I have never installed the master app on a PC or MAC. Is there a filestorage space reserved for mobile apps that are installed on your computer?

Thanks so much for your reply! If you can add this feature, that would be awesome. However, if you can tell me where the CSV (User App) or the data with any format you used is stored, that would be also helpful. Thanks.
