I would like to know if there are any teams in indiana that have seminar/workshops that could talk about ways math (algebra, calc) can be used with contribution to robot design.
1706 is considering doing a webinar involving computer vision. While it won’t explicitly be about math per say, there is a lot of math involved. (Last year the program solved a system of non linear equations to find its position and orientation on the field, two years ago the program solved a system of non linear partial differential equations to find its position and orientation on the field.)
Design does a decent amount of work with geometry, you could look into that as well.
I haven’t heard of any. Are you looking for one to attend?
You seem to know what it is you want to know about. How about spending the next half year or so putting together such a workshop, and then present it at the Indiana FIRST Forums this fall? I’ve often found that the most effective way to learn something is to teach it.
In a more abstract sense, our team used math (largely algebra) to analyze this year’s game and develop our design goals. If you’d like to know more, send a PM my way.
