About the game: One of our fellow programmers and I decided to make an off brand game about steamworks once we saw previous 3D games created to replicate FRC games, but our ideas got really crazy once we started brainstorming. We decided on a simple 2D game with powerups and jumping robots. This is our final design. Pls share with the community.

I just downloaded and played it. Its amazing, I love the fuel auto aim, its the like bot I always wanted!

I hope maybe one day you can make an AI that you can vs instead of 2 player, other than that its great.

I think what would be awesome is for next year’s game, getting more people on board to program and design, and idk, maybe make it x-box or something more complex with AI like you mentioned and more powerups. I love the feedback, thanks!

Really fun game, good job. I hope that you do this for the game next year. Maybe next year as well give different robot models (ie one that can get balls and gears from the ground, one that can hold more balls.)

My high score’s 241 - 2 rotors and 66 kpa. This game is really neat.

Update: 426, 4 rotors, 71 kpa.

This game is awesome. Like others have said an AI would be awesome if you’re really looking for a stretch goal.

My high score for it is currently [strike]482 (127 kpa)[/strike] 503 (148 kpa)

This is amazing! I think I can compete with 254 and 2767 for pressure now :stuck_out_tongue:

Here’s a thought: how about make it open-source on GitHub? Then you have the whole community as your programming team.

I can’t figure out how to trigger gears to come from the loading stations, so I’ve been focusing on fuel. With both robots shooting for red, I got 128kPa and 243 points.

Edit: 174kPa and 374 points

My new high score is 350. I was able to get all 4 rotors in the game. It was very fun to play.

Down arrow key, so for the red alliance, it would be S, for the blue it would be K. To place a gear, it is passive, so wait on the peg facing the correct direction to place it.

Thanks! Now the game makes much more sense

And I got 436 with all 4 rotors and 81kPa

If you’re playing single player, have both robots shoot in auto at the same boiler. It gets you a little more points and saves you a little more time.

Playing alone my high score was 494 with 139 kPa. The fun part about the game is trying to maximize efficiency on each of the tasks simultaneously. Triggering the hopper on the way to a gear, pushing the balls you can’t collect to your side, even shooting from the rope. Knowing when to shoot and when to score…it’s like driving an FRC super robot!

EDIT: I’ll try playing with a friend later to see what multiplayer is like!

I am really enjoying messing with the single player to maximize points with both bots!
A few notes I have found:
you can speed up your 4 rotors by using the opponent loading station instead of your own (use the blue robot’s gear button to feed them to the red bot)

you can park the blue bot near the red airship as a way of lining up with the peg fast

So far, the best strategy I have found is to make the blue robot the designated shooter while the red one cycles gears.at the end of the match, once you have got 4 rotors, both robots can focus on shooting, make sure blue is touching your rope for maximum penalty points

Awesome game!

I have 486 points, with 4 rotors and 131 kPa!

Highscore? (NO PENALTIES)

Please!

+1

done with auto aim and auto collect, no powerups
