This is a clip of the teaser, feel free to make predictions.
EDIT: Added youtube link
time for blackout…
and object will be batteries
Bring back Sandstorm!
sandstorm but instead of at the beginning of the match, it lowers at the end
That is a very interesting idea. I could see FIRST doing this…
endgame sandstorm i like that better than auto sandstorm
Steamworks 2.0?
Looks cool
The star wars connection looks to be larger in the FRC game than in the FTC game just based on the two trailers for both
Also we could be trying to keep a battery of some sort from discharging and who ever has the most power left wins
I’ve never been a huge fan of the themes in games. It feels too… contrived? I don’t know to describe it, it always feels forced. From the trailer it certainly feels like the game will be dominated by the theme this year.
deciphering the door that BB8 goes though on top is in star wars alphabet, which it says Authorized Personal Only. Take this with a grain of salt
the volunteers are actually the only ones allowed to play and we have to wait outside
VOLUNTEERS WE NEED TO FORM OUR ALLIANCeS
There was another piece that needed to be decoded that said:
First
City
Threat
Detected
I think the large circular object that R2-D2 charged up and appeared later will play a role as the field elements and then the small battery that the person held probably represent a game piece, then the shadow at the end could mean another sandstorm but in place of an endgame rather than an auto. I think the objective could be to plug in some special standardized apparatus into a port and have to keep it there to charge up the large batteries and maybe that apparatus only works when in possession of one of the smaller batteries, and then you’ll have to get several to complete a large battery.
One idea that I’ve always thought would be neat is if robots interacted with the field by turning something, which be kinda like R2D2 when he hacks things. The last robot-field interaction game was 2016.
It is up on youtube now too by the way:
It could be something where an obstacle goes away or a door is opened (like R2D2 did) if we have a certain key. It seems like filling up a big battery (with all 4 bars) could be an RP point.
