FRC World Rankings

Is there a site that has the World Rankings for FRC teams for the 2019 season and the criteria for ranking teams. Is there a ranking of the Districts.

I wasn’t aware you could quantify bots by ranking, especially worldwide, since every individual competition has a different atmosphere and different teams, resulting in a lack of a standardized scale with which to rank bots on a world level, especially for the two Einsteins, which both have really good teams but really different teams with different strategies. Remember, FIRST is a team sport, not an individual sport, so it isn’t possible to directly compare or rank bots based on their teams’ performances because of the inherent variability in teams and strategies.

This has never stopped some folks calculating, or just plain hot-taking, FRC world ranks. There are many to choose among. I like the ones that FUN does.

Im not too much of a fan of popularity contests for world rankings.

Caleb Sykes’s ELO papers is the one i usually look to, but im not sure offhand if it has just 2019.

You can get the District rankings, based on District points earned, on the FRC site, or TBA:

Caleb’s Elo is cumulative (that’s how Elo works) so 2019 is just an extension of previous years. His latest top 50 are: (2020 Start-of-Season)

Someone posted this site a while back on chief, I think it ranks based off of some type of elo.

I have my District Points rankings here. It’s divided yearly, for every year since 2010 (so the 2019 results are only based on 2019 performance). Certainly not an unequivocal list, but not a bad start.

It works by basically calculating the equivalent district points each team would get for each event (regionals, districts, DCMP, and CMP), taking the average of that for all events a team plays, then adjusting that value based on the number of events played (so doing well at more events is worth more than doing well at a single event).
