FRCmap 2024 updates?

Question: Who runs https://frcmap.com/ ? With the 2024 event and team registrations finally coming to equilibrium, it is high time to update the site with 2024 data. I’m sad everytime I go visit, forgetting it’s old data.

And a related question: https://firstmap.github.io/ seems to have some 2024 Regionals missing, as well as 2024 rookie teams. Are others seeing the same thing?

Well this is interesting. I just earned the “nice topic” badge on a new thread with zero replies .

But you have two replies!

Also, looking at WHOIS, seems the site hasn’t been updated since Jan 2023. But someone in Ontario owns it?

That’s when the domain registration was renewed. Note the expiration date a year after. That doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with when the website itself was last updated.

It’s run by Francisco Prince, a volunteer and microsoft employee from Redmond, WA.

iirc he normally updates it around end of december/beginning of january around the time that TBA jumps to the next year.

Thank you! I knew someone here would know. Hopefully TBA will update to 2024 defaults soon after the BunnyBots event next weekend (the very last event of the year on TBA) and FRCmaps soon after!

I don’t think TBA’s defaults affect this, really. TBA already has 2024 events listed, and the generic team list API route (not specific to any year) already returns 2024 teams: https://www.thebluealliance.com/api/v3/teams/19

It may be convenient to cut over around the same time as TBA, but I’m not aware of a technical reason why it would be necessary. I suspect it’s just a time/availability reason.

No, but:

Yes, I read that. I wasn’t responding to it. I was responding to the comment after it to clarify that there is probably not a dependency on TBA before frcmap cuts over, just a correlation.

For some reason, Team 7826 - Marquette Zetabotics is showing up in Rapid River, MI, instead of Marquette, MI. Any idea why?
