[FRCTop25.com]- Week 1 Voting!

After a great weekend of competition, it is time to vote for the Top 25 teams in FRC! Head on over to http://www.frctop25.com/VoterPage.html to vote!

Please remember some criteria for voting!

  • You can’t vote for your own team
  • You can only vote for teams that have competed so far (you can’t vote for a team that competes in week 2 for instance).
  • You can vote for a minimum of 15 robots!
(If any of the above are violated, your list will be voided.)

Be sure to tune in on Wednesday night at 10:30pm EST at http://www.frctop25.com/MikeandJustinITM.html as Justin and I count down the Top 25 teams from Week 1. We also will have lots to talk about, as it has been such an interesting weekend of matches! Please tweet us @MikeandJustin, or email us at [email protected] if you have a topic of discussion you would like us to talk about, or if you saw any cool plays or strategies from week 1! We will also preview week 2 on the show!

Thanks for all your hard work! See you on Wednesday!

Your sites will not load for me.

Same :stuck_out_tongue:

The link should be http://www.frctop25.com/VoterPage.html ; the second http:// is ruining the link. You’ll find this page is live.

All fixed! Thanks guys!

You missed the colon in the hyperlink in your 2nd link in the first post, Mike

Guess it wasn’t fixed. Thanks Zach! Guess Justin should post from now on. Totally noobing it right now.

For the sake of this poll, is San Diego included? Also, what about Israel? I assume San Diego is week 1 and Israel week 2, but I’m not positive. Thanks!

I think the minimum of 15 is a lot. I’m too lazy personally to go and find fifteen teams and rank them. :\

Thank you for bringing this up!
Yes, San Diego will be included in Week 1 voting, while the Israel Regional will be included with the Week 2 voting!
Thanks!

truth.

Well last year, you HAD to vote for 25, so we’re cutting ya’ll a break

We encourage you all, and want you all to do some research! 15 teams should not be hard to come up with at all.

Yeah… if 15 is too much. Then just don’t participate. That simple.

Just vote for 341 fifteen times.

I think 15 is definitely more manageable than last year’s 25. Plus, if they only let you vote for 5 teams, it would quickly turn into “FRC Top 5”

This. We thought we were doing everyone a favor…

Nothing personal (this would apply to me too), but if someone doesn’t know at least 15 teams that they think deserve to be in a top 25, then their vote will probably hurt the rankings more than it will help.

I guess my worry is that it’s only week 1. By week 1 I’ve only seen 40 teams, and I don’t remember all of them because not all of them were exactly memorable. I remember maybe 10, and even so, it’s hard to rank all 10 in an order (especially by an overall ranking.)

While the point that “pick 5” might turn into the “FRC top 5”, I don’t think that’s a valid issue in the first couple weeks. Everyone is coming from different districts and has seen different robots.

In the later works it may be more reasonable to pick more than one, or have a poll based on what was already submitted.

But that’s just my opinion.

I usually hold off until week 3 or 4 to start voting. Once I’ve seen archived match videos, gone to regionals on weeks we don’t compete, and watch webcasts, I feel like I get a good sense of the teams out there and start voting.

I don’t know if this thread is really meant for campaigning, but 341 and 1218 were stellar this weekend. It was clear from the moment I saw these teams in person that they would be in the finals/win. If you don’t believe me, go look at the OPR for both. The only thing they didn’t do together was the 3-bot balance. They deserve some cred.
