Hi Everyone,
I had a quick question - does anyone know what is considered possession in this game? Is it considered possession if the balls are within the robot but touching the foam mats? Also is it considered possession in the robot is touching a crate with balls in it, but the crate is on the floor?
Thanks!

You’re only allowed to possess 15 balls within your robot. Balls that are in contact with the playing field surface or are fully supported by the ball crate are excluded from this constraint.
Hope this helps!
We’re still not sure how the possession inspection will turn out - the game forum made it sound like any mechanism that could potentially pick up a raquetball on the robot will be counted. If the refs take it too far, it could really confuse everybody.
I think you are looking at this through the proverbial “Wrong end of the telescope”.
I would suggest that this is more apropos: If the rules are vague, this topic will really confuse everyone, and the refs will have to use their best guesses.
Okay, that’s a bit more accurate. That’s a very good description of last year’s dilemma. The GDC cleared it up pretty soon, though, and I know they’ll figure this out, too.
Or maybe it won’t be a big issue at all. Who knows.
