Wow, the World Championships are coming up at an amazing speed; only two weeks left! For those of you who will be competing there, how are your preparations coming along? Any major robot modifications?
2945 Power Surge is busy finalizing all of our last preparations… we haven’t changed our basic robot design much, although we did make one drastic improvement to it along with several small tweaks. We’ve also done a good bit of brain-surgery on Spike (our robot) - also known as programming.
FTC 25 is writing new autonomous codes and fixing some drivetrain issues, nothing too major. We’re definitely looking forward to seeing everyone there!
Team Unlimited (FTC #1) is all ready to attend, with several needed tweaks preformed, we are just in the practicing stage to get the final preparations and testing done.
Can’t wait to see everyone in Atlanta!
P.S. I will be doing a similar scouting program as last year, so I will be making a new thread within the next week asking teams for scouting information about their robot. Again, I will making it a publically available format (in the Microsoft Access and also as a downloadable .pdf) so that everyone will be able to get the data in a clean format.
Twisted Bots, 177, will be there! We’re working on updating the auto code and a few other adjustments. Unfortunately, Twisted Bots 2, 3165, won’t be there. We don’t have enough people to run two teams in Atlanta. Looking forward to seeing everyone down there!
iLITE will be there. Our lead teacher kept wondering why we kept getting the FTC championship emails from FIRST, only to call last week and discover we qualified. One of the kids did a back flip in celebration, lol, it was litterally like one of those deals that’s too good to be true (but it really was). Luckily many of our FTC kids are already going with the FRC team to Atlanta, so they’ll see you there!
I got an e-mail saying “You are invited” and I thought that meant our team was invited, then I realized we were invited to watch. Oh well, we took our robot apart already anyway.
we stripped our robot down completely and almost rebuilt it from scratch… and the parts that we ordered before the march break… finally arrived yesterday… =.=". so yeh… i’m guessing a few all nighters for our team lol
Good luck with the rebuild. Too bad you guys didn’t make it in time for the practice tournament at Thornlea on Thursday. Let us know if you need help with anything.
Team 2818 (G-Force) will be there.
We’ve revamped auto to eliminate all the motor controller glitces. Plus we’ve added a power reset switch that let’s us turn on 12v power at the start of auto and do a remote reset during teleop.
We’re feeling pretty good about our chances and are hoping to be on some great alliances.
We suspect that our puck pickup will get a workout this competition
Finally! Our team began travelling to Atlanta today… I’m posting this from a hotel in North Carolina after driving for over 12 hours. Tomorrow we’ll drive the remaining 4 hours to get to Atlanta.
