[FTC]: [FTC]: 2009 Kit Of Parts CAD files

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone had the CAD files for Autodesk Inventor and PTC Pro-E for the 2009 Tetrix KOP.

I need the newer parts like the: Omni Wheels, Set screw hub, and the chain and sprocket.

does anyone know if these files are available yet if so where do you download them?

Thanks for the help

They are on all formats SolidWorks ProE Inventor and more on www.3DContentCentral.com. Use the keyword “Tetrix” . Select the file format, year of software (you can go back a few years) and download to your harddrive. Unzip the file.

If you have SolidWorks you can drag/drog a 3DContentCentral part right into the graphics window.

To link to the folder where you put all your robot components, from the Design Library, use Add Folder location, browse to your robot component folder on your desktop - this will save you alot of time when creating assemblies.

Before you start your assemblies - really think about symmetry, mirror component and component pattern. Build the sub assembies as you would physically assemble them.

If you need SolidWorks for FTC, go to www.solidworks.com/SponsoredDesignContest

Oops I just realized we have the omni wheel from FRC - I have to look for FTC. Will call manufacturer for you on Monday if no one has it. Marie

Thanks Marie! Should we link to these on 1323’s library for others who might be looking for the parts? Or should they be uploaded and categorized for faster reference?

Marie thank you for the recourses, but i already have the 2008 kop i need the new parts in the 2009 kop like the omni wheels, sprockets, set screw hubs, and tube plugs which are not on the PTC list or 3d content centrals list either.

I’m assuming they will have them up in a few days. I’ll just have to wait for the update i guess.

Thank you though

Andrew

Hi Andrew

I called my colleagure responsible for the Tetrix parts, a great SolidWorks user, who actually makes the new parts - it is always better to get the model from the source. When the model is created in SolidWorks it can be downloaded in any file format from 3DContentCentral. Give me a day or two. I think this might work.

Marie

ok thank you very much Marie this is going to be a great help!!

Andrew

where you given the part numbers - or is it just one big kit? Marie

The omniwheel is part no. W31132

Thank you - I will add the part numbers when I get them

Here are the models for the new Tetrix Sprockets. I am working the the others. Should be up shortly. Marie

Sprocket X32T: http://www.3dcontentcentral.com/Download-Model.aspx?catalogid=171&id=17062

Sprocket X16T: http://www.3dcontentcentral.com/Download-Model.aspx?catalogid=171&id=17061

You can definitely link to 1323 - I should have the other parts posted by tonight and will post the individual links here. If I am missing any parts from the kit let me know. If the manufacturer is a SolidWorks customer, I can usually get the model file. marie

These are awesome, thank you so much!

Here are the rest that I have:

Omni wheel: http://www.3dcontentcentral.com/parts/download-Part.aspx?id=17067&catalogid=171#1
Omni wheel joining hub: http://www.3dcontentcentral.com/Download-Model.aspx?catalogid=171&id=17060#
Tetrix Axle hub: http://www.3dcontentcentral.com/parts/download-Part.aspx?id=17065&catalogid=171#
DC Connector: http://www.3dcontentcentral.com/parts/download-Part.aspx?id=17066&catalogid=171

Tubing Plug: http://www.3dcontentcentral.com/parts/download-Part.aspx?id=17064&catalogid=171

When you search use FTC, Tetrix, 2009kop. If I get more I will post here too. If you need something let me know.

If you want to make your own web page with 3DContentCentral models embedded so they zoom, pan and rotate, just copy/paste the embed link on your web page. Here is an example of a web page with the models embedded. http://blogs.solidworks.com/teacher/2009/09/new-solidworks-models-for-tetrix-kit-of-parts-2009.html

Wait a few seconds, all the new Tetrix models are posted on this page and it will take a moment to come up. But the results are really cool. You can move the Omni wheel around.

Good luck in the competition. Regards, Marie

CAD Model for Plastic Wiffle® Baseball, 9in circumferernce, 2.86 diameter, 25.5grams (.9ounce). Available in white or yellow configurations.

I believe this ball is made of PVC, the mass is correct - but if you think the slot size should be different, please let me know. I dont have the actual ball.

Be certain to check both configurations if you want yellow and white. If you want to create a linear pattern of baseballs, use the sketch line I used in the slot cut as a reference in the assembly. This will save you time.

Baseball is available in all CAD file formats.

do these parts work on pro e? because i am having problems opening them into my cad as a .prt file

Try downloading the file in SolidWorks. Open the part in SolidWorks and then save it as a ProE file. See what happerns.

Otherwise try a neutral file format like SAT, and then do a File, Import from ProE.
