[FTC]: [FTC]: Ontario Provincial FTC Start/End Times

Hi all;

As far as I can tell, there appear to be no publicly available information about this topic, but if I have overlooked something, feel free to give pointers.

The Ontario Provincial FTC Championship is next week Saturday, December 15th. We were wondering if anyone has any idea what times we should show up and what the expected competition length is (give or take a few hours, naturally).

We’re a new team this year, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. We would also be greatful for any general “good practices” (e.g. policies on spectators/parents/etc., student:staff ratios, rules, tips on what to bring and what not to bring, knowledge of typical unanticipated expenses (e.g. food, drinks, parking, etc.)) various veteran teams might have.

Thanks!

Thanks, Karthik, for your prompt reply. If anyone else has any suggestions or further things to mention, feel free to let us know by making a comment at our website, or by e-mailing us. (Or posting a further reply, where appropriate. ^_^)

Hi Michael,

The planning committee sent out a copy of the agenda to all registered teams last week. Registration begins at 8:00 am, with opening ceremonies starting at 10:00 am. The closing ceremonies are scheduled to finish at 5:45 pm.

In terms of general FTC good practices, many are covered in Section 6 of this year’s manual. As for information specific to the Ontario Championship, parking is free, and teams have been sent an order form to pre-order lunches. If you’re not interested in pre-ordering, there are numerous fast food outlets within walking distance of Woburn CI. But remember, the lunch break is only 30 minutes long.

If you have any more specific questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Cheers,

Would someone please either send us a copy of the schedule or tell the committee to do so, or tell us how we can contact them ourselves? We are FTC team 0481, and none of our contacts have either of these messages, and we’re kind of panicking now.

If you want to forward, please send copies to thenewme91 (at) gmail.com (me) and Nicholas.Fernandes (at) yrdsb.edu.on.ca (primary contact). Thanks!

Hi Everyone…

I hope all your robots are running well and that your teams are getting excited about the upcoming event. I have attached a tentative schedule for the day and the pre-order form for lunches.

Looking forward to seeing you all…Karen

Please note that inspections are also being run on the evening of Friday the 14th from 6-8pm at Woburn CI, and the fields will be available for practice.

Please take advantage of this if you can - we’re really running on a tight schedule with 50 teams to inspect in the morning, so every team that can get inspected the night before will be a huge help. Plus, if there are any problems, you will be able to fix your robot the night before, and not miss any matches in the morning! After your robot has been inspected, it will be locked in a secure location for the night.

As well, please, please make sure you take a look at this thread: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?p=657544 in regards to software requirements to compete - it’s so much easier to be doing this the week before, as opposed to the day of competition!

Thanks so much, hope to see you all there (on Friday AND Saturday)!

good luck everybody and see you guys on Saturday

congratulations to all the teams that competed this past Saturday all teams did a great job
