For those who have used LED’s on their robot, how did you set it up, what LED’s did you use, did you use an external power source (9V is allowed), etc?
We’d like to set up some LED’s on our robot.

Go to your local hobby store and see what they have. We found an extra bright led strip that is 18" long, comes with a self-stick 3M backing, and runs off 12V. We hooked it right into our main battery.

A word of caution. Your NXT and Samantha WiFi Module need as much power as they can get. By adding more things (apart from motor and servo controllers) to your 12V battery, you are going to quickly drain it and possibly cause your Samantha WiFi Module to disconnect during the middle of a match. I would recommend that any LEDs you want to put on your robot be powered off the 1 allowed 9v battery.
I’ve seen a few robots with LEDs in videos. But what is their purpose? To tell drivers when weighted rings are picked up?
lol… cuz they look cool!
