We are finally at the point to start working with Android Studio, but I discovered we have serious problem. We have 2 ZTE Speed phones and both of them are not detected on my PC.
Here are troubleshooting steps I’ve done:
~ Tested my Moto G phone, it detects successfully
~ Check Device Manager - phone is not listed and no unknown devices present
~ Tried on different computer, still not detected
~ Tried different cables, still no luck
Not sure if it is related, but there are couple more nuances:
~ when connected to USB charger, phone, while charging, does not register that it is charging.
~ if I plug phones to charge while it is powered off it enters in Start up and Reboot loop.
Any ideas how to resolve these phone issues?
If we can’t resolve this issue, is there a way to load custom programming via SD card?
When “Media Device(MTP)” is selected, our phone shows up as “9130”. When “install driver” is selected, and I skip the driver install, I see two (2) items:
That is what I expected to see, as it happens with any other phone I have. I tried all modes “install driver”, “MTP”, “Camera” etc, nothing happens on the computer. You’d think: “OK, then phones USB must be bad”, however, phones work with Robot Controller and Driver station. I can drive our push bot using K9TeleOp mode.
Well, ZTE support is not much help for us, we can send phone for repair to them, but they can’t send them back to us to Canada. So the only thing they are good for is a driver station
It’s probably cheaper for us to get used ZTE’s from eBay
If you’d like us to receive and send from the US, let me know. Amazon is listing the ZTEs for $40US with “free same day delivery”. If you’d prefer new phones, I could buy and send to you.
Much appreciated the offer. I just received one I ordered from eBay (got a good deal = $20) and it works !!!
If we will need more new phone I definitely will take you on your offer
I am still puzzled though why our phones are selectively not working
