Funding Options for 2002

I have a question for all you guys out there. What are you doing for funding this year? Is(Are) your sponsor(s) providing all funding? Do you need to find additional sponsorships? Are you relucantly looking at 6 weeks of non-stop pop can drives? Any suggestions for teams needing additional funds?

Well-----

we are always strapped for $$$

I will share what we do.

raking leaves, sponsor dinner/pledge cards, commemorative bricks at our high school, pre-game dinners, bbq carryout dinners delivered to large worksites, frozen bbq ribs slabs, stretch bookcovers (the turtle co.), suckers, candy bars, car washes, school jackets, faculty shirts, wind suits, you name it–we’ve done it!

have even thought about selling dippin dots

Hey There,
Yeah, we too are strapped for cash here on the west coast. We still are getting funding at the corporate level, just not in the amounts we’ve had previously. So, we also are using some creative fundraising. By that I mean we will be selling a project that we build in our shop to train new members. As well, we are looking into car washes etc. and holding a benefit dinner. It’s more work, but it’s what we need to do.

Yeah, our team is also beginning to fall into poverty. We still get corporate funding from a couple of our sponsors from last year, but not nearly as much as they had given before, plus we just recently lost our machine shop. We’ve done quite a lot of different things in the past that we’re going to try to do again this year, from car washes to bake sales, gift wraps and junk sales, selling old stuff on EBay to going door to door on some dowtown street with a jar asking for money.
