Fundraising Help?!?!?!?!

Hi guys, as most of you are already doing, my team is getting back together for meetings. This year we would REALLY like to go to a second regional, because the euphoria wears off as soon as we step off the bus when we get home from the VCU regional. We are looking to go to the new D.C. regional but we have to of course fund raise. Does anybody know of any fund raising ideas that are very successful and profitable?

You might want to try reading through some of the threads in the Fundraising forum. This thread has many of the ideas.

HEXBUGs.

I second the Hexbugs, we couldnt keep them ON our shelves last year…

And I dont know if our Patron Drive is listed in the fundraising thread, but we annually raise between $8,000 and $12,000, just from asking for small sponsorships. All of the documentation is posted at the bottom of the page here, and you are more than welcome to modify any of those documents if it looks like it would work for you.

We run a car wash every year. Pre-selling tickets ensures a good cash flow, regardless of whether it rains or not. $5 a ticket. We also work Back To School night, with a table in the cafeteria (the PTO has snacks & drinks there), plus team members *in uniform *are in the hallways, directing parents to classrooms…and selling tickets.

Ask all members to bring a list of ten names and addresses to the next meeting.

Draft a formal letter explaining robotics (include cool pictures!), include a return envelope and any other important info.

Have every student personalize their ten letters at the meeting and mail them off.

We’ve made over $5000 dollars every year doing this.

“Have every student personalize their ten letters at the meeting and mail them off.”
hand delivering those letters help… it’s harder to tell some one no.

And our team also does a coca-cola sale. We sell water, soda, juice, and powerade of all different flavors. 20 oz bottles, 24 bottles per case.(i think) Another fundraiser that i have heard does well is the Gertrude Hawk Chocolate Fundraisers, although i have never had to sell them. Good luck!

Our team did a clay robotics ornament sale using scraps from the art room and wood shop

Our team took up on HEX Bug’s we started selling them around the Holiday’s and they were a HUGE hit on our community and around school. Maybe that is something you guy’s might want to do. Worked for us it should work for you!

        Hope this helped -Eddie 1708
