Subject: FVC Scholarships Now Available!
Greetings FVC Teams:
Don’t forget - your tournaments are coming up fast! Make sure you have read the Q&A on the FIRST Forums ( http://forums.usfirst.org/forumdisplay.php?f=26), as all answers by the Game Design Committee are legal for this year’s competition and must be observed.
In addition, make sure you have paid your registration fee to FIRST.
You will not be able to participate in an FVC competition until you are fully registered!
It is that time of year for seniors! Our 2007 FIRST Scholarships are now posted on our website at:
http://www.usfirst.org/robotics/scholsh.htm . Many of these scholarships are available to students on FVC Teams.
Over 22 schools throughout the country are offering from $1,000 to full tuition scholarships to FIRST Vex Challenge students. Over $4 million in scholarship funding is offered from schools like Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Drexel University, Ohio State University, and the University of Denver.
There are scholarships specifically for engineering, computer science, technology, science, or math, and many others that can be applied to any course of study. Some scholarships are for academic achievements and others are for participating on a FIRST team. There are plenty of scholarship opportunities for all students to consider.
We are waiting for some schools to update their 2007 Scholarship offerings. Their application deadlines should be similar to last year. As new scholarships are offered, they will be added to the website listings. Soon, we will be making it easier for you to see which scholarships are available to FVC students. Please check the Scholarship website frequently!
