We just got the game ball and this is interesting. The ball should be consistent in size from ball to ball. The cover restricts the size. The interesting aspect is the inflation. How is the GDC going to determine the inflation guidelines?
In OCCRA we use a max / min ball gauge to control ball inflation, We control to size, not to pressure. We manage diameter sizing with +/- 1/2inch from nominal. We create 2 wood panels with circular cutouts. Process for checking is ball must fit through max size hole, ball must not fit through min size hole. This year, nominal Diameter is 17" so size will be controlled to be between 16.5" and 17.5" using this method.
