We have vision tracking and auto-targeting working, but I am having issues setting my vision thresholds because the camera image seems to be too bright. Even with a 60mm green LED light ring around the camera, the target, and most everything else around it is appearing pretty much white. I have seen images of people with a perfect green target, but I cant seem to achieve this kind of bounceback. Normally I would attempt to change the settings on the IP camera, but due to the restrictions of the new radio, We had to use the USB webcam that came in the KOP. I am wondering if there is a better way to control the brightness on the camera. I tried using the camera setup drop down menus in the vision processing VI, but It doesn’t seem to be working and I am not sure if I fully understand what I am doing. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you. (and sorry for the wordy post)
You can use the camera setting VIs. If you look in the vision VI, you will see a string of setting VIs. Set your exposure to zero. Beware that this sometimes behaves flaky, though. Our experience is sometimes the settings take and sometimes not. Restarting code from the DS seems to be working by YMMV.
You don’t mention what USB camera. It looks like the MS cameras, in particular, use some odd values for exposure.
Lowering Brightness will also help and the MS camera I played with controlled brightness better than exposure.
