Maybe I’m getting sentimental in my old age, but I like to collect all of the lapel pins from my early years mentoring FRC, and if you look hard enough you can find most game pins via ebay. However, there are no pins out there from 1992 to 2009, and very very few for 2010 (volunteers only) which is what started me on this journey. How many alumni and ancient mentors like myself would be interested if I got roughly 100 pins from each year made up to sell on ebay. Not looking to make a profit by any means, just let everyone relive the pride they had from the early days of FIRST. I would want to recover the costs for the custom pins and it appears I can do that for about $3.80 per pin (plus shipping). I’d use the logo from each year to create the lapel pins.
I’d also like to make a few more “Award” lapel pins. Currently there is the Chairman’s award because of it’s prestige, but I’d also like to create the Engineering Inspiration, and Rookie All Star for those that have earned them and want to show their pride. I would likely pattern these after the Chairman’s in an antique bronze finish. Is there existing artwork out there for either of these awards? Or is this something I could open up to the FIRST/Chief Delphi Community?
