Gearhead mortor not in Kit?

Guys, my team has a very important question, that as a first year team, we dont know.

We got a few parts on our kit that were not on the list of parts that we got, so we are wondering if we can use it. Specificaly, a PG71 Gearmotor am-0914, because it was not in our kit, so…

Any help is appreciated Thx

Edit: We also have a few throttle motors with incorrect id #s, is that ok?

Edit: We Alsogot some motors that were not mentioned that are not gearhead

I don’t even know how to begin to decipher this. Blatant self contradiction.

Formatting errors aside, I would assume that if you got it in the kit, you can use it.

And how exactly is it that you got a motor in your kit that wasn’t in your kit?

This is making my brain hurt.

The motor listed in the KOP is the part number for the motor, not the part number for the gearbox assembly, so the short answer is, Yes you can use it. It took our team a long time to figure this one out also. There is some discrepancy though with using PG-71 gear assemblies from previous years because some of them are listed as having a different motor number than the one on the list. The way to fix that is to buy replacement motors for the gear head assembly.

Hope this helps more than it hurts.

Sorry for the brain hurting, i meant that we had a couple of motors that weren’t in the list. Also, are we allowed to get motors that did not come in the kit of parts list, this is what i originally meant.

Sucks to be ESL… XD

So if you look at Rule R32, It has a list of available motors for this year’s robot. In the list is the motor am-2161 and am-2194. These are the motors used in the AM PG71 and AMPG188. Our understanding is that FIRST lists the part number for the motor, not the gearbox assembly. Your team can use any motor from the list in rule R32 in quantaties from the list in rule R32, you just have to include that in your Bill of Materials. Have fun shopping for motors!

Hope this settles things for you.

Thank you for your, this will definitly settle things, good luck and have fun.

Jesus,
As a rookie team, you are provided with parts in your KOP that are not provided to veteran teams. You can find this list on the KOP section of the First website. Many people are not aware that two KOP versions exist. Veterans are expected to use parts they have received in the past. You should have received two batteries I believe while veterans only receive one.

Yes, its just I could not find it in any of the two lists. But i think eedoga had it right in saing that it did not include the gear assembly as part of the motor, and so it had a different id #, im pretty sure we found it in our list now, so thank you for your help.

Hopefully we can stop with the problems and get to work on the robot now :stuck_out_tongue:

Good luck:]
