GearScout is back with amazing improvements including offline data storage. But this year Team 2338 has a surprise, introducing QualScout. QualScout is a spin-off scouting app made specifically for collecting qualitative data. QualScout is a part of the 2338 database and will store your data in the same place as GearScout. For more information about the apps please read the rest of the post.
GearScout
GearScout is our team’s quantitative scouting app that has been running for many years. GearScout is a web-based scouting app that is free and easy to use. In order to use the app all you need is a device with access to the web. GearScout collects data a variety of data in both auto and teleop. More information will be released soon.
QualScout
QualScout is 2338’s new scouting app introduced in 2024. QualScout is very similar to GearScout but collects qualitative data. The data from QualScout is collected and stored in the same place as GearScout improving the ease of use of our scouting system.
Access + Tutorial
In the upcoming 1-2 the link to both apps will be made public alongside a video tutorial on how to use both apps with detailed descriptions. If you have any questions I will try my best to answer ASAP.
Sorry for such a late response! We have been messing with the offline syncing feature for this past week doing some bug fixing and trials, the feature should be fully functional at this time. If you run into any further issues let me know and well get them fixed ASAP.
One more question we had about GearScout Analytics—how do you download the data once it has all been collected? It seems the download button is always grayed out for me. Thanks!
@Adrian2338Scouting Any update on this front? I’m not too worried because it honestly y’all already do a great job compiling the data in the Analytics page.
Also thank you make such an incredible tool public.
Sorry again for such a late response, I haven’t been recieving notifications from Chief Delphi (If anyone knows how to fix this please message me). Once there is enough Data in a specific code the button should work, I’ll reach out to another developer tonight and check with him to make sure this feature is fully functional and hopefully get back to you tomorrow!
Still working on fixing that issue, just had a competition this week and haven’t had ample time. As we work on this issue, may I ask what type of data is your team looking for? We are always looking to improve and make changes to our app! I’ll keep you updated on the download data feature.
