So, we’re having trouble getting driver station to automatically launch smartdashboard upon opening. As per the instructions online, I modified the “smartdashboard cmd line” in the config file to match the actual location of SmartDashboard.jar, but that has not worked (“smartdashboard type” is set to “default” on the driver station, in case you’re wondering). I am able to launch SmartDashboard by running the command manually.
When you modified the line, did you specify the right directory and user? Not sure if that’s your issue, but that’s probably a common error. You could try uninstalling and reinstalling driver’s station as well. It’s good that you can still use SmartDashboard though.
It looks like the mandatory DS update fixed the “stickiness” of the Dashboard setting. You should just be able to set it to C++ or Java now and have it stay.
