GigaWorks ProGamer G550W and no sound.

I have a Creative Labs GigaWorks ProGamer G550W and here is the situation. It is only 10 months old. I have it hooked up to a Creative Labs Sounblaster XFI Platinum so they are supposed to be matched. The fuse is a T4AL/250V fuse which I assume is a 4 Amp Timed 250Volt. The T4AL spec is also on a diagram on the unit. On their info website that Creative sent me, they mention it should use a 2.5 Amp and 250 Volt fuse.

What happened is this. The subwoofer was on. I was doing something that did not require sound at the time. I heard a soft pop and noticed the power went out on its own. Now when I try to power it up, the green light in the back of the unit and the red light on the attached hand controller come on briefly then go out. No sound. Then when I power down, those same lights come on, I hear the soft pop, and it is powered down.

I replaced the fuse with a slow burn 4 Amp 250 Volt and that didn’t help, same situation. Is my unit fried in only 10 months? I am 45, a computer professional, and this unit has been kept mint with no spills or any problems for 10 months. Thoughts?

Did you check the power supply? You could have a burned up transformer that is intermittently working, but not providing sufficient voltage.
