Good Competition Workbench

Last year at comp our workbench top broke, collapsing our vise into the table. In our shop we haven’t really been needing a new work bench to badly. But now as competition season rolls around, we are realizing we need to order a new one for comp.

Which ones are good, either portable, durable, has good shelving for batteries and/or tools?

We are using Seville UltraHD (you need that high definition) 12-Drawer Rolling Workbench. We are using 2 of them as part of our pit this weekend.

More info on it here.

We use two of these:

I had a coupon for 20% off for one of them at some point.

Attached some casters and its mobile.

Bolted on a large vise (not shown).

Also built a back frame and attached peg board.

We were lucky enough to have a corner pit at two regionals and champs, so space wasn’t a big concern

If you build your own you can make it whatever you want it to be. Ours is made of 2x4 and 2x6 lumber along with a lititle plywood for some bracing. We added a cheap set of pneumatic casters and we have a portable workbench that holds four KOP totes as well as some organizers for small parts (pneumatics, nuts, bolts, rivets, electrical connectors, etc.) We have also added a banner on top, along with a built in computer and monitor. Added a vise and a craigslist drill press and our workbench can do everything we need for less that $600 including the computer.
