Last year at comp our workbench top broke, collapsing our vise into the table. In our shop we haven’t really been needing a new work bench to badly. But now as competition season rolls around, we are realizing we need to order a new one for comp.
Which ones are good, either portable, durable, has good shelving for batteries and/or tools?
If you build your own you can make it whatever you want it to be. Ours is made of 2x4 and 2x6 lumber along with a lititle plywood for some bracing. We added a cheap set of pneumatic casters and we have a portable workbench that holds four KOP totes as well as some organizers for small parts (pneumatics, nuts, bolts, rivets, electrical connectors, etc.) We have also added a banner on top, along with a built in computer and monitor. Added a vise and a craigslist drill press and our workbench can do everything we need for less that $600 including the computer.
