Does anyone know of a good coding software/language I should use to create a team scouting form? I want to get started early so we can have practice but I’m a little new to making the form myself.

I use excel for my spreadsheets, gets us very accurate. As far as the app to collect data, they use flutter and write it in dart
Google Sheets for the tabulation.
I think we used Pages last year to make the individual scouting sheets, but Word or Google Docs would be fine too.

We use AppSheet, google sheets, and ActiveChat. It’s nice because we don’t need to use any programming and can still do a lot with the data. We’re also planning on using Tableau this year if we have the time.

We use Word, although I’ve heard nice things about Microsoft Access - for the actual data analysis, we’ve been using Excel (looking into Tableau this year, too).
Unrelated, but at first I thought this thread would be about terminology for scouts to use.

Visual Basic .NET is great for making forms. I’ve already made our scouting form using it and am simply working on making the part that puts it into Excel. (Once it is done I plan on sharing it with other teams as well)
Though some will laugh, MIT App Inventor was a super straight forward method used for us last year.
We use Java or MITApp Inventor for an app to collect data and use Tableau to analyze. We’re beginning to look at using R for analytics.
It worked incredibly well and gave us very accurate, time based, quantitative data last year. Its a GREAT program

4513 will also be using Appsheet fed to a Gsheet, which goes into Tableau. If anyone has questions about Appsheet or Tableau, feel free to DM me. Tableau specifically is a lot less complicated than it may seem once you understand the basics.

I use an HTML form that posts to Google Sheets via a script. This gives you more flexibility than traditional Google Forms in the style, types of questions, data validation etc. but the same advantage of having your content already in a sheet for you.

I use a website data base that is then hooked up to tableau to graph the data and it works pretty well. I believe it is coded in groovy and it is a bit complicated but I’m able to help you out if needed.
