Googe???

I’m sure that many of you have noticed that Google makes special illustrations of their logo for holidays. Well, upon visiting the site today, Valentines Day, i found that, it appears that the artist may have left the “L” out of Google. It may be that the stem on the strawberry is the “L” but to be honest, I’m not seeing it. Can it be that Google would miss something like this, or could it be intentional???

The stem may be the intended ‘l’, but you’re right, it looks like Googe.

haha, i took a few glances at it this morning as well, i didn’t notice the l missing at first. but now, that’s funny.

I guess Im slow. I didnt notice that until you said something :yikes:

an unofficial but reliable inside source says that the strawberry is a combined “gl”…not one of their better doodles in my opinion

Usually we tend to change for the ones we love, and Valentines day is no exception to that rule.

But going by THIS SEARCH, I think Google is just being a rebel today. :stuck_out_tongue:

Kinda sad really…

from Official Google Blog: Strawberries are red, stems are green...

When you look at the logo, you may worry that we forgot our name overnight, skipped a letter, or have decided that “Googe” has a better ring to it. None of the above. I just know that those with true romance and poetry in their soul will see the subtlety immediately. And if you’re feeling grouchy today, may I suggest eating a strawberry.

Upon reviewing past google doodles, they do occasionally take liberties with the lettering. This one was just particularly worrisome to me.

Mmmm, but doesn’t a chocolate covered strawberry sound yummy? Man I miss real (aka, nondorm) food…

I understood the stem -
maybe because I have been eating chocolate covered cherries all day…

Plus the normal google logo features a green L and the stem is very green…i can see it

I read online that its actually a reference to a poem by Barnabe Googe. The first line is “, I did but see her passing by, and yet I love her till I die”.

Man I miss having people cook all my food for me AND clean my dishes AND bathroom AND hallways.

The grass is always greener…

Hehe, I didn’t notice that. I saw the ‘L’, but I’ll put that down as a note :stuck_out_tongue:
I’ve been saving google logos for the past few months.

I’ve heard that the artist behind the logos actually works as one of the big head honcho coders at Google~
