Google Launches Google Print Search

Hey guys and gals, it’s time for a new Google service! This time you don’t need invites!

It’s been rumored for a while, so it’s great to see it come. It’s called Google Print and it’s directed at amazon’s search a9.com service. For more info, go to http://print.google.com

I was hopeing for it to be called 'Gook" (Google + Book), but ou can’t have everything!

I think the media might have given Google some grief for using a racial slur as a name for a service :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, yeah, didn’t know that was a slur. Sorry anyone who this might offend (don’t know who though).

Direct link to the page you get when you search for a book:

So hold on a second… Will this mean I will never have to buy a course textbook again for college? Cause ya know… That would be cool.

I’m guessing not though. :frowning:

Google watches the number of pages that you view and limits it, so you can not read a whole book. They also disabled screen shot and printing abilities somehow. But if you typed up as many pages as you could…and got everyone else in your class to do different pages you might be able to get a free textbook.

Actually I’ve found a way around not being able to read more than 3 pages in each direction. You search a would such as “the,” something that will most likely be on every page, then you can go to whichever page you please (well, maybe, Google will probably figure this out and disable it, but it works for now). It’s still a hassel though and I’m not suggesting you do such a thing.
