Gradle issue involving root project metadata failure

What are we doing wrong in VS code when gradle fails to configure the root project because of not loading metadata?

Below is the failure description from the Terminal:

Executing task: gradlew build -Dorg.gradle.java.home=“C:\Users\Public\wpilib\2020\jdk” <

FAILURE: Build failed with an exception.

  • What went wrong:
A problem occurred configuring root project ‘troubleshoot’.

Could not resolve all dependencies for configuration ‘:classpath’.
Could not load module metadata from C:\Users\dccur.gradle\caches\modules-2\metadata-2.82\descriptors\com.jcraft\jsch\0.1.55\671a8ecc284f9e9f4d35b614eb5de66e\descriptor.bin

  • Try:
Run with --stacktrace option to get the stack trace. Run with --info or --debug option to get more log output. Run with --scan to get full insights.

  • Get more help at https://help.gradle.org

BUILD FAILED in 3s
The terminal process terminated with exit code: 1

Terminal will be reused by tasks, press any key to close it.

Could you try cleaning your project directory and rebuilding? Additionally, clearing the Gradle cache may help.

Thanks for the advice. I still am not sure how it happened, but the wpilib folder was placed in the wrong spot inside the C: drive and the file pathway for building and accessing the repositories was broken.
