Grain weevil - Screw Drive Robot

Very few of you on here will know how much a dusty bin in August sucks. That’s fine, but it is not a pleasant experience.

This robot is ment to help get grain down to the base of the bin once it reaches its angle of repose, a task that is commonly done with a scoop shovel in instances where a sweep auger (floor cleaning auger) can’t be used (generally smaller older bins). There are still other tasks that need to be done by hand, but this takes away one of them for some farmers. That was a fun rabbit trail to run down!

i live right next to auburn university where that farmer graduated from

This is awesome. Excited to see this move forward with more testing and production! Looks like a great addition to those pesky grain bins.

Would have been great for Maize Craze.

Seriously though, smart use of a robot vs… Well, I have helped “walk down corn” before. In hindsight it was a pretty dangerous job.
