Grant List

I was wondering if there was any good websites or list of grants that are out there?

Best Buy Foundation Community Grant
NASA Grant

Both of these we applied for and received last year.

Better luck than us.
Those were the two few that we DIDNT get.

Definitely look local. We get ~$3k often from a local foundation (Baehr). And with ties to local business, we were Monsanto Fund team. We plan to re-apply but the local branch closed this year, so we are not sure we’ll get it again. Look for business ties to parents. We got a matching Verizon employee grant last year because of a parent. We are an NI grant team, which we’re proud of (see #NIweek). We also applied this year to the Olsson Associates foundation, which we were made aware of from a school principal (and they did work on the new addition to our school).

We didn’t get the NASA grant, for Huntsville. But went anyway and had a fantastic time. Our MadebyMilk entry didn’t win, but we had a good time. Our Dow ShapeYourFuture video didn’t win, but it was fun too.

Anyways, you will do well to find some ties whether to parents, mentors, or community of the grantee. Being successful with a national program is less likely, but worth trying.

We missed the SWE grant deadline this year and didn’t get it the year before.

This is specific to Indiana, but the TechPoint Foundation for Youth has a grant where elementary schools can apply for VEX IQ kits and training. It’s a great way to embed a feeder program to your high school team and inspire students early.

this is some good information, We are a Labview team so the NI grant would be great. I could not find any webpage for the grant. Do you have one?

It was a google form last year, available around September or October. You must use LabVIEW and agree to get CLAD certified (by end of year). The form is dead now, but some of the questions were: What language do you use? (hopefully LabVIEW). Why do use that language? What was your previous year’s budget? List the community event you’ve participated in the last year? Awards for last two years? Briefly, describe your LabVIEW and RoboRIO experience. How has LabVIEW helped you succeed as a team? List any additional things you’d like to highlight. Plus the number of students, the number of female students, the number of programmers, is your school Title 1, the number of CLAD students or mentors, and contact info for contact and team leader.
