Great Plays of 2009

Rumor has it that 67 won a match where they were essentially the only functional robot taking on 3 functional robots (supposedly 2 no shows on HOTS alliance). Can anyone substantitate that rumor?

I’d like to nominate the L.A. SF1 series and L.A. finals. If you want some tough plays, I don’t think any of those were decided by more than 4-6 points. SF1-1 was a tie.

Its true, Cass Tech match #25. 1 v. 3 when two of our partners didnt show up.

Plan was to move the empty trailers to safe zones that our human players could protect.

247 attempted to slow us down with some defense, while 2137 scored in the empty trailers.

I was told (by Copioli) that our shooter unloaded about 5 balls in one of the empty trailers, when he forgot they were for our alliance…so we were lucky to pull it out in the end. :yikes:

I’m surprised they didn’t devote 2 (or 3…) robots to pin you ASAP. Good job dealing with the adversity.

florida regional-Qual’ match 50…

when 945 and 1557 pinned the “ninjaneers” at the outpost station and had them for about 20 seconds unloading 1557’s hopper and 945’s basket untill 1902 came over and started shooting…

It wasent the most impressive match, but definitly worth watching again…

The buzzer beater that EricH was referring to at the Los Angeles regional was team 848. We pinned 399, but were still down and needed a super cell for a chance. What a great shot and it was fun to hear the crowd cheer.

I’ve got to say that watching that was my favorite moment on Friday. Friday the 13th, 13th match, amazing play. The Tinman and Raptor were an amazing team that day.

In a Q47 of the Chesapeake Regional, teams 40, 1719, and 287 were allied together. In autonomous, 40 rockets across the field and smashes into 1719, causing 1719 to get caught on the 40 robot.

We thought 40 was done for the match, but the coach for 40 stood between 1719 and 40 and coached both of them. To our disbelief, the two robots began moving around the field as if they were one robot! 40 was able to collect balls and score, while 1719 was able to avoid being scored on by the other alliance.

This, coupled with 4 more-than-half-court shots IN A ROW by 40s human player drove them to a WIN!

In a qualifier match at the Orlando regional, team exploding bacon was pinning team 79 krunch the entire match with its big blower fan because they were afraid to let the beast that is the krunch bot out of its cage…
in the last 10 seconds of the match bacon released its strangle thinking the game was theirs, but alas, krunch goes and while picking up balls on the way swiftly scores a full load in the last microseconds of the match sealing the deal for our alliance!

WHAT TIME IS IT? - KRUNCH TIME!!!

I Remember That!!! it won the match

I know the match you are talking about even though I can’t give a number, but bacon didn’t have a fan, spam did, I am not sure which robot it was.

really?.. i thought it was bacon… o well… either way what that robot lacked in offense it succeeded exponentially in defense, it was a very agile and deadly defender

1438 3027 1070 VS. 207 995 702 12 71

The Payload Specialist on Team 702 shots a Half court buzzer beater with perfect accuracy! and ya all the judges looked out for him all day.

Anytime 1625 was playing at Wisconsin Regional, they would get pinned and/or double teamed, but would always break free and score at least 2 huge dumps. The crowd went crazy every time. It was spectacular (and scary).

That was awesome.

2:18 keep your eye on the bottom right corner of the video

The best super cell play I saw was at Arizona, quarterfinal 2 match one. (video here)

The red alliance of 2840, 60, and 2839 had a super cell available in each corner. The first super cell was thrown into a pileup, missed the trailer, and landed on 2839’s pneumatic shooter. Several seconds later they aimed and fired it into the trailer (the only robot to score a super cell at AZ, I think). To top it off, the payload specialist from the other corner scored the second super cell from over half the court away!

At the Lansing District Team 1918 was about to unload their bot in to a trailer and it had a supercell in it at end of the game. Then my team, team 2075, pushed them out of the way to save the game. We ended up winning by 2 I think.

This is my favorite so far but i haven’t watched many matches because i am either in the pit or driving.

I remember at the finals at traverse city our alliance and BOB’s (85) were there.
we were alwase hoping for BOB to jam so we could win.

but they ended up winning.

Change “1625” to either “488” or “1280” and “Wisconsin” to “Seattle” then I couldn’t agree more!

Yesterday, Long ISland regional

Quarter finals 3 vs 6

Match 2 4 point win for Seed 6 after a super cell
Match 3 1 point win for Seed 3 even after Seed 6 threw a super cell…

epic!
