OK, so next week Halo 2 comes out for PC. Does this look familiar?
Any thoughts on this?
Here are some of my points:
It is only for Vista (meh). This means you must upgrade to play
The first Windows Live! compatible game. This integration should be interesting
How long before an XP hack comes out?
But this technology sounds the coolest (from London Free Press):
Even more interesting is the “tray ‘n’ play” feature that mimics what console owners have long taken for granted: You can pop Halo 2 into your PC’s DVD-ROM drive and, after a delay of a minute or two, jump right into the game while it continues installing itself unobtrusively in the background. That alone is an incredibly significant step towards making PC games more palatable to the non-hardcore masses.
So any thoughts about this game? How will it effect your gaming experience?
P.S. Mods. If this is totally un-called for, feel free to delete it.
I wouldnt upgrade to vista to play it, but Vista is on my laptop, so thats the only reason i would get it. I wonder if your gonna need DirectX10 to play it.
I hate to burst your bubble, but 9/25/07 is 4 months away. That can be seen here and proves it. Regardless to it being on PC it will still not be as fantastic as it was on xbox, I mean Halo2 MADE xbox live what it is today, and there is no way to replicate that via PC.
That software looks pretty awesome… Knowing Microsoft though, they have their [strike]evil[/strike] software version checkers built into the installer to check your version of Windows. This means that a new installer will have to be written. Has been known to happen before (similar to a no-CD crack, in theory). I guess we will see when the executable is out. But yes, the DX10 issues will need to be resolved, and Alky’s product looks like it might work.
I say its working on XP in a week. Two tops.
And the xbox 360 is not only a heater, but a substitute for matches too!
If there’s one thing Microsoft has done right recently, it’s the Xbox360. They got a year jump, so they’re on top as of now, and Halo 3 is only going to strengthen console sales.
Sorry to say it but Sony blew it this time around
And Nintendo is amazingly back in the game, the Wii will be the winner in the end with its better price point.
But anyway, hopefully someone gets that ported over to XP because Vista sure ain’t worth getting yet…
Well once they got past the initial design flaw with the end result of the processor burning up. They were still having this issue as late as January of this year…
