Happy 1108 Day!

Hope you’re having a great 1108 (Nov 8) day!!

So far we have greeted the elementary kids (K-2) giving them high fives and showing the robot as they arrived at school this morning.

Then the school lunch menu was changed to be more FIRST-centric:

And when it was 11:08 on 11/08, that was a mini-celebration:

And we even connected with a sponsor, not realizing today is National STEM Day also:

So whether you celebrate 1108 Day or National STEM Day, it is a great day to recognize all of the future STEM (or STEAM) innovators around us!

That’s cool, Glad you guys get to do this. I’m also pretty glad that there isn’t a 39th day in the 13th month of the year, though.

13:39 happens every day.

That’s neat! We have a similar thing with 8:34 twice a day.

It is lucky. I was curious, so I’ve checked against the list of teams (up to 2019) and there are 147 FIRST days of the year and 151 teams have dates in their numbers (following month/date convention). It is also our curfew (at competition).

You’ll have to look up the Jovian calendar (although I’m not certain they have months).

It seems like the kids had so much fun.

I heard later from teachers they were pretty excited by it and I even saw a couple later that day and they had told their parents about it.

Will have more prep and ideas for next 1108 day to make it bigger🤗
