Im waiting for 2026, for 1/1/26. But november 26 seems to work every year. Unfortunately, when there are 1 days 1 hour 2 minutes and 6 seconds to the kickoff, I will probably be in school
Happy 1511 day guys! cant wait to see you at FLR this year!
Ahh very true!! My brain was foggy, and for some reason in thinking “100 years from now” I thought 3011… maybe its the whole twenty-eleven thing… I edited my post (still dont think I will make it to 2111, unless some of our FIRST kids make some major breakthroughs!)
It’s been kinda fun today telling people that it was 1511 day! But the best story was when I got home from work and was shoveling the driveway (more snow!). My neighbor who works at the high school pulled in her driveway. She got out of her car and yelled “Happy Robot Day, Cynette!” That made me smile!
Our team calendar has “45 day” listed on February 14. It’s the 45th day of the year. We’re always too busy building a robot to observe it properly, though.
With our cake and pizza, we got a team history review. Our current Team Leader, Larry Lewis used photos and videos to take us through the 6 years of competition. Kim, you looked so young that first year! Mentors and alumni added stories from the early years, and current students chimed in on more recent years. It was actually a great way to end our pre-season with a reminder of where we’ve been and who we are for the new and returning students alike!
Enjoy your day, 1511. Unfortunately I’ll be 109 years old when 1/2/74 rolls around, but that’s okay. Our two high schools (and hence our two FRC teams) are set to merge in four years, so maybe I’ll be celebrating on 1/2/48!
Congrats on your day I hope you properly celebrated and brought some FIRST spirit to your friends and school.
We had 2212 day on the 22/12 and it was a blast. Hope you enjoy your day as much.
