What do y’all think the hardest offseasons are?
The only three that I know is hard is the Indiana Robotics Invitational (IN), Texas Robotics Invitational (TX), and Chezy Champs (CA).
The STEMLY cup is by far and away the strongest offseason event up here in Ontario. There are also some pretty competitive state championships run in the off season that reach similar levels of difficulty.

Of the Michigan offseasons, I’d have to say MARC or Kettering Kickoff. I’d probably give an edge to KK but MARC this year was pretty stacked.
IRI just finished yesterday and that is definitely up there.

Almost every off-season event has above 1500 average Elo (and the three that don’t are from new regions where there aren’t as many teams with over 1500 Elo). It would seem that good teams are frequent attenders of off-season events.

The average elo for offseason events is 1586.41, while the average for on-season events was 1543.26. As an average across many teams it’s a fairly big difference, but not quite as big as I expected.

Something to remember: not all offseasons get added to TBA. Im not sure what percentage isint added, but i think it would be enough to shift the average offseason elo a good bit.

Most offseason events have new drivers (especially in the Fall) so I think the quality of driving goes down a whole lot with the amount of inexperience on display.
18 out of the 94 offseason events did not have team data.
There are also events that don’t get added to TBA at all.

I think average ELO slightly knocks bigger off-seasons, like Battlecry and Rah Cha Cha Ruckus, which I’d say are relatively difficult off-season events to win.
EDIT: I think an average of Top 24 teams would be better potentially?

Agreed. I heard a rumour that 217 had an all-rookie drive team at IRI, can someone from 217 confirm or refute that? I think a lot of people were surprised that the reigning Detroit champs struggled so mightily at IRI.
Battlecry is only competitive in playoffs, in my opinion. Quals are very relaxed with little planning per match. Source: am on team 190, we run the event.

Ramp Riot is definitely the premier FMA offseason IMO. Its got the some of the best teams in PA, some from NJ and the best in DE.
