Has any of the other regional events have a sickness like at the VCU??

was wondering if that was still around…

As for as I know, nothing at GLR or Detriot.

I don’t know no one as far as I know got sick at the Detroit regional.

that is great news… don’t want to get sick at buckeye

as far as i know everyone one from UCF is doing fine, my team sanitized real well especaill the drivers

We had 2 kids throw up in front of our pits(friday?) (on the way to the bathroom, but never made it) As far as we know, they were unrelated, and nothing else happened, but we also sanitized like crazy!!O yea, don’t use hand sanitizer w/ cuts on your hands…its hurts…a lot (didn’t know i had cuts till i used it)

I think there was something going around at UTC. Most of the girls on my team are sick

Melissa

Everyone on my team is doing alright. We were right next to you in the pits and we haven’t gotten sick.

Nothing happened at Peachtree…

Although I don’t think it was widespread at all, I managed to get bronchitis and a sinus infection from St. Louis (cute, I know). I got strep throat after Kickoff in Manchester, too. I think that if everyone watches their health and gets plenty of sleep during the regionals, we’ll all be great.

Don’t get me sick anymore,

AM

After attending competitions for the past three weeks (one as a spectator, and the last two as an entrant) I have developed some sort of illness. It feels like a cross between mono and the bubonic plague.

Here is some advice for all those who wish to avoid this horrific fate:

1.) Never compete at back to back regionals – It’s just too exhausting, and too stressful. I’m tired of waking in the middle of the night wondering if our robot will make it’s shipping deadline.

2.) Always find time to eat at events. I know it may seem more efficient to skip breakfast and lunch so you can plan your matches, but trust me you pay for it in the end.

So after all this I have two medals, one silver and one gold, and a nasty sort of virus as my take home prizes. Was it worth it? You betcha. =)

See you in Toronto and Atlanta…

After the norovirus outbreak at VCU, we had our entire team sterilized.

Oh, wait, that doesn’t sound right…

:ahh:

Talk about giving things up for FIRST…I’m sorry, Dave, I’m just not quite that devoted.

Haha thats funny cause a few people on 250 got sick, 1 went home early and a handful out of school for the past 2 days. Hm 236 sick, 237 fine, 250 sick… If i didnt know better i would think 237 might have slipped something to us :yikes:

There is easily a possibility what happened at VCU could happen at your Regional. Norovirus is still going strong in the state of VA. Two of my co-workers are out with it, and another one just came back today after the majority of guests at her daughter’s wedding this past weekend were stricken with it… and now most of these people, some of them still sick, are taking planes back to their homes…

So wash your hands a lot and drink lots of fluids, water especially, and keep yourself hydrated (this could send you to the bathroom more often, but that is good because it will make you wash your hands more often, at least you should, and if not, shame on you!) Most people who end up in the hospital because of this end up there because of dehydration, and because of soda, a lot of people already tend to lean towards being dehydrated anyhow… Do not rely solely on hand sanitizer, it’s good in a pinch, but could be worse in the long run… soap and water is best…

Most likely nothing will happen, but isn’t there a saying about an ounce of prevention being worth a pound of cure?

I woke up with a cold the Sunday after UTC, although that may have more to do with walking around the field in a t-shirt 7:30 in the morning before the stage lights warmed up the 45 degree temperature. I felt fine for all three days, but am now noticing a stuffy nose and somewhat sore throat. Anyone else have this?

Thats what the girls on my team and I have

Melissa

yepp,
after being completely fine the whole winter, i started not feeling too good sunday after utc (the whole stuffy nose, sore throat thing). maybe it was from standing outside in the cold in a tshirt saturday morning before pits opened . :ahh:
oh well, it was all worth a little cold.

yeah, i have not only the stuffy throat, sore nose thing, but a fever too. My doctor says that it is viral pneumonia. sounds like fun.

As far as I know nobody is sick from my team, 521, or at least nobody has tolf me of anything. However, though I have had no symptom or anything of a cold/virus I have since developed a discoloration on my palm which a doctor friend of mine said is similar to that of a symptom AFTER a certain virus straind (can’t remeber which). Or in could just be an irratant so I dunno. But my best fo wishes to those that have become sick that they might fell better

P.S. What do you think the Championships are going to be like?!!? :yikes:
