Has anyone ever been through this error before when trying to deploy your code to the Rio?

Does anyone know anything about this error code?? We’ve got this when we were tyring to deploy our code to the Rio. Building the robot code was done successfully. But couldn’t deploy it. And the COMM LED on the Rio is not flashing at all. Radio configuration is done, but then when I tried to reformat the roboRio through roboRio imaging tool, it didn’t let us to do so. The firwall is turned off on my laptop, the radio was connected, and then we’ve reinstalled the FRC game tool again after removing the old version(Maybe it was the latest one).

The second pic is the screenshot of my PROBLEMS tab on the VSCode.

Any tiny information would be greatly appriciated, Thx!!

Rio 1 or Rio 2?

It’s roboRio 2.

It indicates that you are not connected to the rio. Check connections and if using radio, use wired instead for now. Also check if rio appears on driver station or imaging tool

How are you connected to the rio? I’d recommend a hardwire connection directly to the rio (so not through the radio) if you are having issues. Also check that you have connection through the driver station.

Check that the sd card is plugged in. If so, try re imaging os and try connecting via different method

Rio 2 must be programmed by taking the SD card out and flashing it with Balena Etcher. Then you need to set the team number via Imaging Tool.
Is all that done already?
If so, does the FRC driver station Communication light is green?

I tried to connect to it with both radio and wire, and the roboRio shows up in my imaging tool, but now the drive station for some reasons.

Is the sd card hooked up? If so, re image the os via etcher or the imaging tool

How do I flash the whole package to this Balena Etcher?? Cuz it only lets me to flash only one file each time. I can just upload them all one by one if it’s not possible.

Re: flash - I mean - flash the Rio2 NI image, not the code. The code is deployed in a “regular” way via VSCode or LabView.

Please see the documentation for how to image the RoboRIO 2. The NI image is a single zip file.

Hi, thx for this instruction. However, when I try to scan my roboRIO through this roboRIO imaging tool, it doesn’t show me anything in the list, meaning I can’t flash anything either, If you have any idea of this, please let me know. THX

Okay, that makes sense. But the imaging tools doesn’t show me the roboRIO itself in the list. Please let me know if you know anything about this issue. Thanks.

Wait, how do I check if I have a connection through driver station??

That’s a problem. You’re saying it does not show Rio after you imaged the card with v2 image and inserted the newly programmed card into Rio? You need to be connected via USB cable, by the way.

The status pane in the driver station shows if you have Comms. If you don’t have connection through the driver station, you won’t have connection deploying code.

I highly recommend connecting thru the USB A port (circled in red) or the Ethernet port on the roborio.
roborio~2

Yea, so I tried to flash the file to the micro SD card with my laptop. And after finishing flashing the file to the SD card through the Etcher, the roboRIO still doesn’t show up in the list. But a strange thing I’ve found is that it says it has nothing in the SD card when I opened it in the file explorer,

Hm… You did download and use the latest Balena Etcher, and you did not get any warnings during flash or verification?

I’m confused, are you using the Image Tool to flash the roborio 2?

I would suggest getting a dongle, or something that will allow you to write the Roborio2 image file with Balena Etcher (as described in their documentation). That way you know you have the image file on the SD Card.

Once you have the image flashed to the SD Card, then insert it into the Roborio2 and then try to set the team number with the imaging tool.
