You seem to assume we have a climber yet.
Fall faster!
We almost fell because the paracord we were using got cut inside the tube somehow, but now we have 2500 lb rope
Video? For, uh, the betterment of the FRC community, of course, no other reason
Those rungs look a lot bouncier than I expected they would be. I’ll have to check that the steel pipes we have been using are truly Schedule 40 like the manual states and not thicker, but even at the Week 0 scrimmage we attended yesterday with a full field mockup the bars did not flex as much as what this official field is showing
If you’re not falling, you ain’t trying hard enough!
Belay that bot!
(please post videos here, I have an end of season meme to make)
If you’re waiting for permission from 125, please go right ahead. Failure is all part of the process!
We definitely noticed the flex during Week 0. Our team built the better field team mockup, with the black iron pipe, which was significantly stiffer. FIRST may be using thinner tube stock, in addition to slightly different material(speculation).
On an unrelated note, we noticed the paint on the bars scratched really easily. Even after just a single climb, we had some paint chips on our aluminum hooks(deburred and filed), and left deep marks on the bars. Probably not going to be an issue, just something to look out for, especially as the season goes on and the fields get used more.
Well, I have changed my vote to “yes.”
We went all through practice and 13 of our 14 matches without even coming close to falling.
Here’s the link though: https://drive.google.com/file/d/10W894tcF4gHz18fW7T0RtYg8BEJwGYe6/view?usp=drivesdk
https://youtu.be/WGdT9mwNFYU?t=137 climb save tho
We fell again but it’s a-ok
The only time it happened was in a practice match. 1860 climbed 2 seconds to soon and knocked us off.
