This past Saturday (Feb. 14) we held our 9th annual State-Wide Robotics Open House. Hawaii FRC Teams, the community, and various political leaders (such as Governor Lingle) were treated to tours of our extensive facilities and a demo of our 2009 robot: The LunaKahuna.
Our Visual Media Leader Ashley created this video highlighting the six weeks! ENJOY!
I noticed something I thought was a bit odd, are your chains different than standard roller chain? Are they sitting between two sprockets as well? or am I just crazy.
I like the design, looks great (Also jealous of the in house powdercoating).
We use bicycle chain for our drive which is lighter than the standard 35 chain but just as strong. Since we mass produced the sprockets, they are all a double sprocket, using either of one side or both for the center.
The powder coating oven cost us a fortune and to have it shipped and wired to get it going. It truly saved us a couple of days from having to send it out and wait for it to get done.
This was a great 12:15 minutes use of my time. I didn’t count the number of times I smiled during it but I probably would have lost count anyway. Wonderful.
