I am curious has anyone ever used heat transfer vinyl for the bumper numbers and how did it work? We have a roland GX 24 and would like to cut them out and apply them ourselves rather than paint them on. How do they wear? and where can you get it?
Works great, we do it every year. Local sign shops or graphics/custom shirt shops could set you up, or coastalbusiness.com is where I send my PO’s for classroom purchases. I’d look at Siser easyweed. You probably need a yard of it, but getting five yards let’s you make t-shirt customizations as well.
We’ve used Siser Easyweed cut on a Silhouette for several years now with very good results. You will need to mirror the image prior to cutting. We use the same cutting settings that are preset for paper-backed vinyl in our software. You will need a heat press to apply them as it takes both heat (305 degrees) and pressure to make it adhere properly. Dwell time in the press is about 15-20 seconds, but on duck cloth, we sometimes go a little longer. If you don’t have a heat press, try asking at the high school or local t-shirt decorating businesses -they may let you use theirs.
