Help for the Houston championship

Hi everyone, Noa here (a popular girls’ name in Israel),
I’m one of the heads of mechatronics in “The Spikes” #2212, a robotics team from Lod, Israel.
We won the Israeli regional/district championship chairman’s award and got the opportunity to fly and participate in the Houston championship.
Since we live far away and can’t fly a bunch of stuff with us, we want to reach out to different teams around Texas and teams that can help in general.
We need to borrow a few things (I added a list at the bottom) for the competition. We can pick up the things but if we can meet in Houston it would be incredible.
The list:

  • Pit
  • Cart for the robot
  • batteries for the robot
  • battery charger
  • power tools (for specific ones reach out)
  • hand tools (for specific ones reach out)
  • folding table
  • storage drawers (portable ones)
  • totes
If you can loan us things that aren’t on the list we’ll be glad to borrow.
    If you want to contact:
  1. you can always send a message here
  2. my mail is: [email protected]
  3. my Instagram is: noa.simantov_

Noa, mentioning your team number would be helpful. It might be possible for you to figure out the teams in pits adjacent to yours. If you reach out to FIRST, they might even allow you to know this info prior to the Division assignments being released. If, for example, we were at the championship and you were in the adjacent pit, we’d be happy to share our pit equipment with you. This would knock a bunch of stuff off your “need” list. If it were possible to track down your neighbors, I’m sure that one or the other of them could be able and willing to do the same.

Best of luck!

edit: I see from your profile info that you are on team 2212. Team 2202 is the nearest numbered team below your team number and team 2228 is the nearest one above that has qualified for the World Championship. These might be good candidates to help you out.

Teams will not be able to see what other teams have pits close to them until division assignments are made.

How far in advance are the division assignments? I understand that they can’t start making divisions until all teams have qualified, but they have to get them posted before teams arrive right?

Couple days before CMP.

Will the short turnaround between DCMPs and CMP cause delays with the division assignments? The last DCMP ends like 3 or 4 days before the start of DCMP.

As interesting as this discussion is, we are in desperate need for help - this is our first time competing outside of Israel in six years, and we won’t be able to bring ANY equipment with us. So please, try to stay on topic.
Thank you for the advice, as soon as divisions are posted we will contact our pit neighbors. Until then, if any team can loan us equipment that we may use for the duration of the event, we will be eternally grateful!
